Help us celebrate the 10th anniversay of the Pennsylvania Hope Ride and support the fight against cancer by purchasing our Anniversary T-Shirt!
The Hope Ride has taken various forms over the last 9 years, building a strong community of cancer-fighters along the way.
Our ride first began as a two-day cycling journey that traveled between American Cancer Society Hope Lodges in Hershey and Philadelphia. Hope Lodges are one of the critically important patient programs made possible by your support of the American Cancer Society.
Each Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Not having to worry about where to stay or how to pay for lodging allows guests to focus on getting better. Hope Lodge provides a nurturing, home-like environment where guests can retreat to private rooms or connect with others. Every Hope Lodge also offers a variety of resources and information about cancer and how best to fight the disease. The American Cancer Society supports more than 30 Hope Lodges throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Eventually, the PA Hope Ride changed its course. For several years, Hope Riders spent two days challenging themselves to ride through the beautiful PA countryside from Hershey to Kutztown and back. Our 8th Annual PA Hope Ride took another form entirely: In 2020, riders safely completed their PA Hope Ride from home with the PA Hope Ride Challenge. Collectively logging over 13,000 miles, riders raised more than $105,000 to help fund the American Cancer Society’s mission this year.
This community is full of strong athletes committed to fighting cancer with every mile. Our Hope Riders are adaptable and relentless in their fight.
In 2021 we were thrilled to be providing a new ride experience. Our one-day ride based in Lancaster County offered various route options accessible for beginners and experienced riders alike. We explored new roads, had a celebratory start and finish at Our Town Brewery, and welcomed new riders into the PA Hope Ride family. Join us again in 2022 as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary and continue to lead the fight for a world without cancer.
